Town Hall Project says Rep. Axne held second most town hall events of any House member

Washington D.C. — Yesterday, Town Hall Project honored Rep. Cindy Axne (IA-03) as the most accessible freshman member of the House of Representatives in their 2019 Congressional Accessibility Report. Rep. Axne held more town halls last year than any other first year Member of Congress.

The report shows that Rep. Axne held 57 town halls in 2019, more events than all but one other House member in 2019.

“It has been my pleasure this past year to hold these 57 town halls across all 16 counties of Iowa’s Third District and meet with Iowans about what issues are concerning them,” said Rep. Axne. “I’ve visited every corner of this district and listened to Democrats, Republicans and Independents — and it’s allowed me to bring all of their voices to Washington to fight for solutions that are good for Iowa.”

Rep. Axne’s leading pace of town hall events has continued throughout her first year in Congress.

In June, Town Hall Project reported that Rep. Axne held more town halls than any other freshman member between January and April 2019.
